Macbook Air

The MacBook Air is really incredible. I can not lie, first, I put everything I own so I can run and buy one. The pictures do not do this thing justice for all. There are significant disadvantages to consider.

1. Flash memory prices are falling fast, by the end of this year, you should be able to obtain a low-end Macbook Air without hard drive. Currently you can get the flash drive into the $ 3000 model. In speaking with Apple tech guys it became clear that upgrading that memory yourself would be a guarantee) empty and b) be very difficult. Hopefully Apple will update the components of this product because it is cheaper / available since the consumer can not. Also – apparently
2. No removable battery. If the battery dies, you must contact the Apple Store for them to replace it. If you’re on a flight and wanted an extra battery – bad luck. This seems contrary to what business travelers want most.
3. On the demo model I played with some of the multi-touch work are not 100%. For the most part, very well … but some do not, in whole or in part time, even when the Apple employee tried to run. I’m sure it will be resolved when they are actually shipped (or at least an update), but its something to think about.

In all its a very nice car. I think there are some issues Apple needs to develop, but in general I like the ultra-portable with a screen and keyboard. If I think that may have hit the market dead with a slightly smaller keyboard / screen and removable battery, the air is very cool. I would probably choose not to use as a single machine / primary, but I have one.
